About the project
This project introduces abstract approach to design and aimed to push the limits/ break the rule of general understanding of design process. The emphasis is put on process and exploration while looking at various approaches to cut as well as new ways to interpret and develop the research.
As this project is very art-based I aim to create a gallery/exhibition feel to the collection. The figure is treated as a blank space – an outline of designs that is filled throughout my development. The idea for silhouette comes from the principle of collage, cutting and inserting basic geometric shapes into the garment, placing flat shapes on the body. Cross-disciplinary practices are involved though print and textile techniques. Different approaches are then pulled together to produce an Exquisite corpse-style outcome.
